Founded in 1973, Interval House was the first shelter for abused women and their children in Canada. This year marks more than 50 years of leadership in supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and advancing women’s empowerment across the country.
How Interval House Helps
Interval House offers more than emergency shelter. Their work is built around a continuum of care designed to help women and children not only leave unsafe situations, but also rebuild their lives with stability and independence.
Through their Residential Program, women and their children have access to safe, emergency accommodation and immediate support. From there, Interval House provides ongoing services tailored to each family’s needs. This includes access to affordable housing options, employment support, financial education, and informal counselling.
