Willful launched in 2017 with a mission to ensure every Canadian adult has a comprehensive end-of-life plan in place. To date, we’ve helped tens of thousands of Canadians create wills and power of attorney documents, and enabled them to keep those documents up to date as their lives change.
To continue bringing value and piece of mind to our users, we’re making some changes to our plans starting June 1, 2022.
Essentials plan is becoming the Legal Essentials plan
The Legal Essentials plan will continue to be offered at $99. It continues to be our lower-cost option for those who only want a will and don’t want the added value of a Premium or Family plan.
Premium plan is becoming the Premium Coverage plan
The Premium Coverage plan will be offered at $189 starting June 1st. (Currently priced at $149.) The features you know and love from the Premium plan will stay the same.
You will continue to be able to create your will and power of attorney documents with a Premium Coverage plan. You’ll also be able to take advantage of recently added features such as Asset Lists and Notifications.
Family plan is becoming Premium Coverage For Families
Just like the Family plan, users with the Premium Coverage For Families plan will be able to enjoy all the benefits of the Premium Coverage plan for up to 6 people. The Premium Coverage for Families plan will be offered at $329 for two adults starting June 1. You can add additional users for $164.50 per adult. (The Family plan is currently priced at $249 for two adults.)
All plans will continue to include unlimited free changes to your legal documents. Users will continue to be able to lock in their Wilful plans at current prices until May 31, 2022. Lock in the current prices here now.

Why are we making these changes?
This is the first time we’ve increased prices at Willful since launching five years ago, and our prices remain just a fraction of the price of a traditional lawyer. We are continuing to evolve the Willful product offering so we can help more Canadians create comprehensive estate plans.
We’ve also recently added two new features to the Willful Premium and Family plans:
- Asset List: To help you log your key assets including digital assets, financial accounts, insurance policies, and properties, in a document you can store alongside your will. Learn more about asset list →
- Notifications: To help you notify the key people you’ve appointed in your will of their role. Support your loved ones knowing they’ll be more prepared to help close your estate. Learn more about notifications →
